Mission

At Bitcoin Comox Valley, our mission is to make Bitcoin practical, accessible, and empowering for everyday people and local businesses alike.

We’re here to show that Bitcoin isn’t just an investment or store of value — it’s a tool for real life. A way to save, spend, and exchange value that holds its worth and stays in local hands.

Through hands-on education, community events, and one-on-one support, we help individuals learn how Bitcoin works and why it matters. We also guide local businesses through accepting Bitcoin, with simple tools and personal guidance every step of the way.

Our goal is a thriving local economy where value flows freely, peer to peer — without middlemen, gatekeepers, or unnecessary fees.

By supporting real-world use of Bitcoin across the Comox Valley, we’re actively building a working Bitcoin circular economy — one that proves this technology can serve real people, in real communities, right now.

We believe Bitcoin has the power to reconnect people, strengthen communities, and bring more fairness and resilience to everyday exchange.

Joyce

Founder @ Bitcoin Comox Valley

Joyce is the founder of Bitcoin Comox Valley (BTC Valley) — a grassroots initiative focused on building a real-world Bitcoin circular economy right here in the valley.

Guided by a belief in personal agency and community resilience, she created BTC Valley to empower individuals, small businesses, and visitors to explore Bitcoin as a practical tool for everyday use — a way to transact, save, and connect.

With a deep understanding of Bitcoin, a background in wellness, and years of grassroots community work, Joyce brings both heart and clarity to the conversation around better money. Through one-on-one support, accessible education, and welcoming local events, BTC Valley helps make Bitcoin understandable, usable, and relevant — no banks, no middlemen, just real people exchanging value.

BTC Valley is about building something lasting — a stronger, more connected local economy that keeps value in the hands of the community.

Why Bitcoin Matters to Me

Bitcoin is more than just a digital asset; it’s a tool for empowerment, inclusion, and community resilience. My journey with Bitcoin began years ago — not as an investment, but as a way to transact, save, and connect with others in a more direct, meaningful, and voluntary way.

I believe that for Bitcoin to truly fulfill its potential, it must be used in everyday life — as a medium of exchange. When we use Bitcoin to buy a coffee, pay a neighbor, or support a local business, we strengthen the network and uphold its decentralized nature. This real-world usage is crucial for maintaining Bitcoin’s integrity and ensuring it remains a viable, accessible alternative to traditional financial systems.

Through Comox Valley Bitcoin, I’m dedicated to making Bitcoin practical, approachable, and beneficial for everyone — regardless of background, technical skill, or financial status. By fostering local adoption, providing education, and helping businesses integrate Bitcoin into daily operations, we can build a circular economy that keeps value in local hands and promotes true financial sovereignty.

At the heart of it all is a simple belief:
money should serve people — not the other way around.

Bitcoin offers a peaceful, inclusive path toward a more equitable and connected world — and I’m here to help others discover and embrace that possibility.
